The northern coast's sunniest region comprises Santa Ursula, La Victoria de Acentejo, La Matanza de Acentejo, El Sauzal and Tacoronte.

For romantics and nature lovers, the Anaga Mountains in the northeast combine the beauty of jagged peaks set against an azure sea, laurel woods and deep valleys with proximity to the capital, Santa Cruz, with its diverse cultural, culinary and shopping amenities.

In the southwest, Los Cristianos is a well-known starting point for whale watching and for excursions to the mighty Los Gigantes cliffs, Masca Ravine or the neighbouring islands.

Tenerife owes its unique landscape to the famous Pico de Teide volcano, at 3,718 metres Spain's highest elevation, which acts as a north-south weather divide. The extensive nature reserve of this volcanic mountain is always worth a visit, for newcomers and long-term residents alike.
