About Tegueste and surrounding area:

Tegueste is a municipality in the northeast of Tenerife and has become a popular place of residence. This area has a breathtaking view of the valley of Bajamar and beyond that the Atlantic Ocean. Tegueste is dedicated to the care of old Canary traditions. Some of these traditions are the Lucha Canaria (the Canarian wrestling), palo (stick fighting of the Guanches). In April, the Romería de San Marcus is held here every year, which is probably the most famous Romería on the island. In this area you can find a traditional market, el Mercado del Agricultor, where the local wine can be purchased.

The climate is exceptionally good, especially in the winter, because the clouds hang elsewhere and this spot is often good weather. The location of Tegueste is in very advantageous location. The motorway is nearby, on one direction you get to Puerto de la Cruz and on the other one you reach very quickly the cities of La Laguna and Santa Cruz. Furthermore, the town of Bajamar and the sea are just a few minutes away. Near the town of Tegueste the green meadows of the Anaga Mountains start, which invite you to take long hiking journeys and relaxing excursions.
